The phenomenon of the
Black Bloc at major anti-globalization protests reveal a paradox of anarchist action in particular and global justice in general. Those who wish not to be supervised by protest organizers and wiling to destroy property in order to challenge the system of power are both a positive and negative contribution to these protests. The positive aspect is that they are willing to disrupt any attempt to control the struggle for justice, while the negative aspect is that they are the target and focus of new forms of government control and discipline which innovate to deter all types of action.
