Fractals can be very interesting on an intellectual level as well as beautiful on an aesthetic level. Here is a depiction of the Mandelbrot Set in three dimensions, where it resembles something that grew in nature. This visual effect is made possible because actual elements in nature will show fractal patterns. This also demonstrates how mathematics and nature are linked together.
