The applications that are possible through personal fabrication and 3D printing expand more and more as time passes. The events in the Middle East, especially in Tunisia and Egypt, showed that demonstrations and protests can still make a difference. The Arab Spring quickly became the European Summer with protests in Greece and Spain. It can be said that the United States is lagging behind in terms of political awareness and the willingness to act for change. But right now, with Occupy Wall Street and emulating protests in other major cities, there is still a chance for an American Fall.
