On May 15, 2010 the Green Party Of New York State nominated
Howie Hawkins as its candidate for Governor. He offers a dynamic campaign that offers real ideas that the two-party system refuses to acknowledge. These include a statewide ban on hydrofracking of the Marcellus Shale, creating a state bank similar to the one in North Dakota that can invest in local businesses, and enforcing the stock transfer tax to effectively end the state budget deficit. There is a big discontent this year not only against incumbents but the two-party system in general which can help the Green Party achieve 50,000 votes for Governor in order to get ballot status.
